Dr Eriksson is a senior consultant radiologist at the Mammography Section of Östersund Hospital in Sweden.

In 2023, he conducted VAE Startup Workshops at Capio S:t Göran Hospital in Stockholm, Bröstcentrum Södersjukhuset Hospital in Stockholm, Unilab Kristianstad Hospital, Ryhov Hospital in Jönköping, and Tampere Hospital in Finland. He also served as a proctor for the VAE Workshop at the International Breast Masterclass in Munich in 2022 and led VAE Workshops at the Swedish “Kirurgveckan” in both 2022 and 2023.

He has provided resident courses in breast diagnostics in Östersund in 2018, 2019, 2022, and 2023, as well as in Reykjavik in 2019. He also held individual workshops in ultrasound and VAE in 2018. In addition, he has lectured and trained residents at the Swedish national radiology conference Röntgenveckan in 2015, 2017, and 2018.

Mammography physicians in Sweden are few in number and in high demand. Education is therefore more crucial than ever, which is one of the reasons why Dr Eriksson is committed to teaching.

​

He graduated from Umeå University in 1995 and obtained his medical license in 1997. He has worked as a radiologist since then, becoming a specialist in 2003 and a consultant in 2007. Mammography has been his primary area of practice since 2011. Earlier in his career, he worked as a teacher for three years and spent three years working abroad.
